The ductwork system serves 3 purposes:

  1. Distribute Air Evenly- Each duct needs to be sized properly according to the volume of air that is needed in each space. This must be calculated by several factors: size of room, ceiling height & number of windows. After each duct is sized properly, Aaron's A/C & Heat installs adjustable air flow dampers, which are like little valuves that can control how much air goes through the duct.
  2. Maintain Temperature of Air- In summer time, your attic can reach up to 150 degrees in Temperature. That heat can heat up your ducts, which can then heat up the air in the ducts. The better the insulation around the ducts, the colder the air will be as it travels through the attic.
  3. Be Leak Free- All connections must be mastik sealed.

Not ready to replace yet, but have a room  that needs more air, 2 ways to handle it: increase the size of duct to that room or Add a second vent.
